Information

Welcome to The Butterfly Community, Carriage House Birth’s virtual village for families navigating the transformation of postpartum.

The weeks and months after birth are often filled with tenderness, questions, and unexpected challenges. While there is no shortage of information about caring for a new baby, many parents find themselves wondering: Who is caring for me?

This group is designed as a steady, grounding space to help you navigate the realities of postpartum with real-world guidance from experienced birth workers.

Postpartum is a season of emergence. Like a butterfly leaving the chrysalis, you are adapting to a new identity, new relationships, and a new rhythm of life. This transformation takes time, support, and community.

This is an ongoing virtual Postpartum Support Group within the Carriage House Birth community. Rather than a fixed course with a beginning and end, this is a continuing gathering space designed to support you as you move through the early weeks, months, and transitions of postpartum.

Drawing on evidence-based education, years of birth work experience, and the lived realities of growing families, we aim to bring calm, clarity, and confidence to the postpartum journey while honoring the complexity of this life-changing season.

Each session blends education, discussion, and open Q&A, shaped by the needs of the group.

Topics may include but are not limited to:

  + Physical recovery after birth

+ Emotional adjustment and identity shifts

+ Feeding support and common infant feeding questions

+ Sleep, rest, and realistic expectations for newborn care

  + Partner relationships and communication

+ Mental health, mood changes, and when to seek additional support

+ Returning to work and navigating childcare decisions

+ Infant development and common newborn concerns

+ Building routines while staying flexible

+ Boundaries with family, visitors, and social expectations

  + Self-care, nourishment, and recovery

  + Parenting confidence and decision-making

This is a space for both education and connection, a place to ask questions as they come up, hear from others walking a similar path, and stay anchored in evidence-based information and supportive community.

Registration includes:

+ Access to virtual Postpartum Support Group sessions

+ Membership in The Butterfly Community, Carriage House Birth’s ongoing virtual village

+ Live guidance, discussion, and Q&A with experienced birth workers
