Join Marni Low , LMFT, PMH-C for a 4 hour in-depth virtual workshop focused on Perinatal Mood Disorders. Marni will discuss the different perinatal mood disorders and how they can present throughout the entire reproductive period, from thinking about becoming pregnant through the first year postpartum. Marni will discuss the differences between Baby Blues and PMADS as well as talk about transition into parenthood and how previous loss, birth trauma, reproductive story may play a role in the onset of a perinatal mood disorder. As birth workers you are in a unique and intimate position of being with the birthing person throughout their pregnancy, often before they are even seen by an OB/midwife. This workshop will give you insight and deeper understanding how perinatal mood disorders may show up, what to look for and how to provide adequate support throughout pregnancy and postpartum. Research also shows that PMADS, when treated appropriately, has the best outcome for both parent and baby.
