Information

This course lays the foundation for anyone pursuing a path as a childbirth educator. Carriage House Birth’s 6-week program offers comprehensive training and fundamental information, so you are adequately equipped with the expertise to educate birthing families with confidence and compassion.

Building a solid base of medical knowledge around birth is crucial, but so too is work that goes beyond the physical acts of laboring and delivery. We will discuss the current culture of birth in the United States, and the importance of self-advocacy and bodily autonomy.

Training Topics

Each week we will deep dive into new subjects essential for your educator training. Here’s a sample of what will be covered over the course of 6 weeks.

+ Anatomy and Physiology of Birth

+ High Risk Pregnancies and Interventions

+ Comfort Measures and Techniques

+ Building Your Educator Business

+ Postpartum

+ Infant Feeding

+ Newborn Care

+ Advocacy and Informed Consent

+ Community Care

Our goal is to make our childbirth educator training as accessible as possible: if this kind of work is calling you, we can make it work for you. We hold our training over 3-hour sessions once a week over 6 weeks via Zoom.

Providing our training is a huge commitment in both time and resources for our team, and as a result we do not offer refunds on any cancellations after August 15th.
