This course is designed for trained doulas whose certification has lapsed or are looking to gain a lifetime certification and to continue supporting birthing families. A collaboration between Carriage House Birth, Woven Bodies, and Dorcas Davis Consulting, our 4-day program offers the same comprehensive training and essential information, now tailored for those who have already completed their initial doula training.
Because you’re already trained, the post-certification requirements will be adjusted, and we’re offering this at a more affordable price point to make it as accessible as possible.
We’ll revisit the medical knowledge critical to birthwork, this program also digs deeper into areas like bias, privilege, race, and inequalities that intersect the birthing process.

"I recently completed CHB's certification pathway for trained doulas and had a fantastic experience. I did my original birth doula training years ago online and dove right into supporting births, so I didn't prioritize completing the necessary steps to receive certification at the time. With the evolving requirements and culture of birth, I am so glad I chose Carriage House to re-train and lifetime certify with.Learning from Lindsey, Dorcas, and Morgane in-person was an invaluable experience that renewed my commitment and devotion to birthwork. The curriculum was thorough, engaging and incredibly inclusive. I especially appreciated the online childbirth education videos and the ability to be creative with the HW assignments to fit different learning styles. As an experienced doula, I can confidently say the training is designed with intention, wisdom and up-to-date evidence-based practices." - Claire Koepke
"In 2022, I completed a birth doula training with Carriage House and dove into birth work head first. In 2025, I am a student midwife and came back to the sanctuary that is Carriage House Birth to finish my lifetime certification. Our in-person training at Grand Street Healing was everything I didn’t know I needed- grounding, AFFIRMING! and expansive. After spending a few months thinking like a midwife, it was refreshing to reconnect with my doula heart. Being in community with other birth workers and guided by instructors who are committed to equity reminded me why I started this work in the first place. CHB doesn’t just teach you how to be a doula, they hold space for who you are, who you’re becoming, and the kind of world you want to help build. I’m leaving this training more aligned, more inspired, and more ready than ever to serve!" - Anna Georgoulas
"Fifteen years after my initial doula training through DONA, I completed a second doula training through Carriage House Birth as a refresh...and what an incredible experience! The training was a wonderful four days long and worth every penny. This was a day longer than my initial training, which allowed for much more in-depth knowledge that my first and was greatly appreciated. I also loved that they dove into issues of reproductive justice, birthing as a POC, and how to support LGBTQ+ families. What a wealth of knowledge! They also setup a WhatsApp group of trainees so people could support each other in their doula journey. What sets this training apart from others is the depth of knowledge covered and the community Carriage House Birth helped to build. Although I'd already attended hundreds of births as a doula, I came away from the training with additional knowledge but also a renewed passion for the work. Thank you so much!!" - Heather White
