BIRTH
DOULAS

A birth doula provides focused support and full-spectrum care, and is integral to the preparation process for people during pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum stage.

What to Expect from a CHB Birth Doula:

Because every birth is a highly individual experience, every CHB birth doula tailors their services specifically to the family they are paired with. The goal is always the same though: to bolster the birthing parent at every step, to prepare the family for the arrival of their child, and to lay the foundation for the immediate postpartum period. Your birth doula will be present to provide support during labor and delivery, immediately postpartum (both for hospital and home births), and offers postpartum follow-up care.

Back up doulas are a vital part of many doula practices. Life happens! We want you to have the care you deserve no matter what. Doulas often work in partnerships and small collectives so they can guarantee a doula will be at your side.

Should you need care and support after a birth loss, miscarriage or an abortion, our birth doulas are available to provide that as well.

All our doulas are independent contractors who set their own rates—these are determined by factors like accumulated experience from clients the doulas have supported and educational training, and are all approved by CHB. Refunds are issued at the doula’s discretion.

postpartum & night
doulas

A postpartum or night doula provides focused support and full-spectrum care in the days (and nights) and months after your baby’s arrival, a period long overlooked when reinforcement is absolutely critical.

What to Expect from a CHB Postpartum & Night Doula:

Every family’s needs in the weeks after welcoming their new child are radically different and the first job of our CHB postpartum doulas is always identifying what those are (one prenatal visit is ideal). From that starting point, our CHB postpartum doulas assess and build out reasonable parenting goals for families; they offer guidance with baby feeding; they provide help with essentials like organizing, light cleaning and cooking; and, perhaps most critically, they are present to emotionally support the new family. Overnight help and referrals (for lactation consultants or other specific needs) are available upon request too.

Our postpartum doulas’ services are applicable for both biological and adoptive families, and should you need care and support after a birth loss, miscarriage or an abortion.

All our doulas are independent contractors who set their own rates—these are determined by factors like accumulated experience from clients the doulas have supported and educational training, and are all approved by CHB. Refunds are issued at the doula’s discretion.
