Information

The sheer amount of information available around birthing can be staggering and overwhelming to try to sift through. We’ve done all the reading and the research so you don’t have to and distilled it into an interesting, engaging, and, dare we say, fun classroom experience. Drawing on both notable texts and teaching and our own long and varied experiences as birth workers, we aim to fill your birth tool bag with the essential information about laboring methods applicable in hospital and birth center or home settings. Information is power and we believe that reframing the birth process as a normal human rite of passage, instilling a deep understanding of the birthing body, and swapping fear-based narratives with confidence leads to the best birth outcomes.

The Carriage House Birth Private Childbirth Education Express class is a three-hour commitment. It offers families a streamlined express class in the comfort of your own home.

+Stages of Labor

+Signs of Labor

+Pain Coping strategies

+The role of the partner

After the birth of my daughter, Eleanor, in 2018 I was inspired to move into birthwork. I strive to weave the power of joy into each turn of your pregnancy and birth.

I have trained with the Academy of Certified Birth Educators (ACBE) as a Birth Doula and Childbirth Educator. Understanding the complexities and uniqueness of each and every birth is critical to my ability to support families while on their path to living out their ideal birth experience. In 2024 I have worked alongside the care team at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY as a Birth Equity Doula, which has brought me a deep understanding of medically managed birth and how to positively impact birth experiences and outcomes especially in hospital birth settings.
